Objectives of the Anaesthesia department

Anaesthesia services are provided by qualified Anesthesiologists to meet international standards.

The patient’s physical, psychological and social needs are assessed initially before surgery during the pre = anaesthetic assessment visit.

Our aim is to provide exemplary anaesthesia care and education to the patient and family concerning procedures, anesthesia, recovery, and pain management during the pre anaesthetic assessment.

The Anesthesiologist is responsible for a complete comprehensive care including pre anaesthetic assessment and intra-operative safe conduct of anaesthesia with continuous monitoring.

The Anaesthetist administers the anaesthetic tailored to the individual patient and remains with them throughout the operation, monitoring and treating as necessary the effects of the anaesthetic and the surgery. This may involve simple monitoring of the heart, blood pressure and oxygen levels, right through to provision of advanced organ support in complex cases

Anesthesiologists ensure complete recovery in the post-operative care unit and pain relief. After the operation or procedure the Anaesthetist along with the Anaesthetic nurse remains responsible for the patient in the recovery area until the effects of the anaesthetic have worn off enough for the patient to return to their ward.

We also plan and implement the pain relief strategy to ensure that patients are comfortable immediately following the operation.

Provide psychosocial, emotional and spiritual support to patients and family members.

Ensure a safe, caring environment for patients undergoing surgical procedures.

Operation Theatre (OT) Facility

Our OT is managed by highly trained, committed and dedicated staff. The well experienced OT staffs help the surgical colleagues to conduct the procedures with ease and safe.
