JPMC offers a comprehensive Eye Care service in the Ophthalmology Department.
FACILITIES
Outpatient Care
The Ophthalmology Outpatient Clinic is furnished with up-to-date equipment for a complete eye examination, auto-refractors, computerised field analysers and AB ultrasound scans for diagnostics studies.

There are also Argon and YAG lasers.
Screening clinics and treatment modes are available for:
Glaucoma : A disease of the eye characterised by the condition of increased pressure in the eyeball, which may gradually lead to loss of sight.
Cataracts : A loss of transparency in the lens of the eye, resulting in blurred vision.
Diabetic Retinopathy : A condition related to Diabetes Mellitus, where the retinal vein (vein found on the retina, a layer at the back of the eyeball) is obstructed or ruptured, causing bleeding. The eye will often exude a form of waxy discharge and blurred vision.
And other minor and major eye surgeries including Aesthetic Lid Surgeries.
Inpatient Care
JPMC offers modern wards with a scenic and therapeutic view of the South China Sea for inpatient care.
There are 3 types of rooms to choose from: Single, Twin and Four-bedded.
Surgical Suites
The operating theatre is fully equipped for all microsurgical eye procedures i.e. small incision cataract surgery (phaco–emulsification), glaucoma and vitreo–retinal surgery. Both inpatient and outpatient facilities for major and minor surgical procedures are available.
Professional Service
A qualified and experienced visiting consultant conducts clinics and performs all surgical procedures assisted by a team of trained nursing and operating theatre staff.
