The Jerudong Park Medical Centre (JPMC) and Fitness Zone are inviting the members of the public to a blood drive which will be held at the Fitness Zone, Kiulap on Saturday 18 February 2017 from 10.00am to 3.00pm.

Romeo Tabios, JPMC Blood Bank Nurse stated “No doubt the first and foremost advantage of donating blood is the exalted feeling of saving someone’s life. Donating the little excess blood in our body could save someone’s life without creating any problems for us potentially saving three lives.”

“While it’s true that every or any extended hand towards charity makes a difference, might it be in terms of clothing, monetary, or simply giving time to spend volunteering in meaningful activities as there is such great value towards the donation of human blood. We are very happy to work with JPMC again for this meaningful and life turning event” said Shelly Busque, Media Relations Manager

The hospital requires sufficient blood units to suit the requirements that ranges from children to adults for those involved in surgery, among other services.

Volunteers who wish to donate are interviewed on health history of the individual as well as family. Other basic physical health screenings are also considered, such as pulse checks, blood pressure, body temperature, blood group type and haemoglobin levels.

With this blood drive, The Jerudong Park Medical Centre looks forward towards getting more support from the community to help patient in need.
